The Yoga4Health programme is a 10 week gentle Yoga course that was commissioned by the NHS and is evidence based. It has been designed by true experts at the Yoga in Healthcare Alliance to improve your health and wellbeing in a supportive environment. It is available via your GP Practice, your link worker, wellbeing advisor or therapist or by self-referral. It is suitable for those who have one or more of the following: mild to moderate anxiety, mild to moderate stress, mild to moderate depression, pre-diabetic, need to improve heart health, feel socially isolated.

The course is also suitable and beneficial for NHS staff and corporate / schools and can be arranged to be delivered in any organisation or school. Contact me via email or on 07981 300531.

The 10 week course is based on gentle yoga and you do not need any previous experience. Beginners and people of any age and ability are welcome. The sessions can be taken from a chair or a combination of chair and mat based practice. Ali has been expertly trained to adapt and modify every practice so that you can participate fully and work at your own pace in a supportive and non-judgemental atmosphere.

Each enjoyable weekly session lasts two hours and combines yoga postures, breathing, relaxation, meditation and mindfulness, as well as discussion. You also need to practice yoga at home in-between sessions for the best results, and simple online videos and a course booklet is provided. There will be some simple forms to complete before, during and after the course, however your personal details are kept completely confidential - all that we require is to be able to inform your GP that you have participated in the course.
